Vive Le Livre!
2011 wasn't such a great year for the book and I.
I had great ambitions when it came to keeping my love of books alive, but wasn't able to reach my goals.
So in 2012 my aim is to find a better balance between the amount of time I spend writing and reading blog posts and the hours I devote to reading books.
The reality is that there are just so many great books out there and so little time!
If you're like me and would like to track your reading goals, share insights from the books you've read or simply seek inspiration for new reads, this is a great place to start.
On the first Tuesday of each month we'll gather round our virtual coffee table to share what we've read in the previous month, comment on each others insights and keep the love of book reading alive.
I'd be thrilled if you joined in.
Here's what we've been up to so far:
* January-February 2012
* February - March
* March - April
In 2012 I've read:
* 'The Kitchen Garden Companion' by Stephanie Alexander
* 'A Fine Balance' by Rohinton Mistry
* 'Opening Pandora's Box' by F. Addis
* 'Atlas Shrugged' by Ayn Rand
* 'The Tiger's Wife' by Tea Obreht
* 'Succulent Wild Woman" & 'Creative Companion' by Sark
* 'Five Bells' by Gail Jones
I'm currently reading "Stasiland" by Anna Funder and "A Guide To Natural Housekeeping" by Christina Strutt.
I've decided to read little bits of 'The Brother's Karamazov' by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, all year long.
Join in and play along, it's the National Year of Reading don't you know?
Until next we meet, happy page turning.
