From My Home To Yours...

Baby chicks, bunny ears and egg shaped treats - this is a little mixed media canvas that I'll be giving to my very special niece in lieu of chocolate this Easter....I'm sure her hippity-hoppity friend will be leaving plenty of chocolate treasures, so I decided to make her something to keep beyond the last of the tinsel wrappings.

In addition to visiting my family later this weekend, sharing in precious cuddles, catch ups and adventures, I've been blessed with two days of 'simply me' time.
You see Captain V and the Gifts have departed for various sporting and social endeavours, leaving Luke and I to enjoy two days of uninterrupted peace....sigh, it's been bliss and I'm truly grateful for the break.

As much as I love Captain V and the kids, I've come to realise just how much of an introvert I really am.
This time alone has been truly recharging, I haven't once been lonely or felt the need for company, in fact the solitude sparked my creativity this afternoon, resulting in this gift for my niece.

So this weekend as my days have unfolded I've been able to count my blessings, and the gift of solitude.

No matter where you are over this Easter break,  I hope that you are blessed to share a warm hug and a giggle with someone you love, some quiet time for reflection...and perhaps a treat or two as well.

This post will be added to the big basket of 'gratefuls' over at my friend Bronwyn's place, she's gathering them there just for us - thanks Bron.

I've also shared this at Kirsty's 'Our Creative Spaces' link up, if you've popped over for a peek- welcome!

Happy day,

The only thing that tinged my solitude was a persistent voice saying "Ring Jane!" - it will happen.
Biggest of hugs and thank you.

    1. Captain V is excellent in trying to gift me space but I've realised this weekend that I really need more than an afternoon to truly top up the batteries - two days and nights in fact....I might even stretch to two days and one night.

Happiest of Easters to you to Lovely, I'm sure that there will be giggle-making a plenty with the Tsunamis and their very thoughtful Bunny.

  3. I just wrote a similar post to link up to Bron's grateful link up, and then visited here after you kindly commented on my blog to find another introvert.

Ah... space. My husband is great at letting me find it when I can, but he doesn't 'get' the need - he needs people to recharge him!

    1. Ithanks MM. I had reservations about posting this as I know many Gifters are Mums of young children for whom ten minutes alone is a rarity and much longed for but I decided to share as it's been such a revelation about my introversion particularly when linked to my creative burst yesterday.....at carumba! 13. Hi Felicity..I love those moments and sometimes days of solitude too. The week before the holidays I decided that I'd had enough socialising for a term and took that week off from my normal commitments to just 'be at home'. It was just what I needed to restore a sense of mental balance and be rested in my soul. Happy Easter and lots of choccy love to you!

  19. Hello my gorgeous friend! So glad you got some time alone - we all need it. There was a time in my life when I got 1/2day every week to myself - didn't answer the phone, get dressed, etc. It was my "PJ Day", brought on by an illness, but continued long after I became well. I think it's time to bring PJ Day back!

I do hope your batteries are recharged and that you have a wonderful week.
