Six Senses Tours - Akimbo But Still Connected

Due to the unintended extension of my little bloggy vacay, our tour itinerary has gone a bit akimbo.
So as we sit in the 'Waiting Lounge' whiling away the time before our next tour is called, I thought that you might like to share some of your own travel memories and dreams.
After all there really is nothing like seeing someone elses enthusiasm for a place to pique our own desire to don adventure wings and scoot off is there?

To play along, simply copy the following 'Quick Quiz' into the comments section, pop in your answers, then return to the lounge to read what everyone else has shared.
Personally I can't wait to see where you've been and look forward to spinning the globe when I read your responses particularly for number 4 & 5!

  1. 1. The place I regularly visit in my dreams is my Grandparent's farm in the country. A safe place of happiness, warmth and freedom.

    2. If I were to receive a huge gift of money, I'd love to spend extended time in a French country village.

    3. My most treasured holiday experience was when I went sailing in the Whitsundays with Captain V - truly magical. [See a photo in my post "Life Is An Ocean & Love Is a Boat' in the 'Most Enjoyed Gifts' section on my sidebar]

  2. Guten morgen...morning dear. I am playing!!!

    1. The place I regularly visit in my dreams is:

-Sleeping dreams - lots of adventures that very often take me many places at ones (i'm often saving the world in dreams)

    - Day dreams - I day dream of seeing more of Africa and the middle east.

    2. If I were to receive a huge gift of money, I'd love to spend extended time in:

-the whole world!!!! France, Africa, South America, Middle East, countries that make carpets.

    3. My most treasured holiday experience was when I went to:

-tough one. India was great, Tanzania was great, Spain was great. I think the key with all three was exploring places by myself, and getting out of cities and into the countryside.

    4. Without a doubt Oman is the most exotic place I've visited

-Oman, unlike the UAE, is a welcoming place. And being less developed and commercialised than it's wealthy neighbour, you see more of the gulf arab culture. Omani's are humble, generous of spirit, and live in a truly beautiful and yet very remote and rugged country.

    5. I've always wanted to visit Marocco to get lost in the souks of marrakech/ and or visit Iran and get lost purchasing carpets all over the northern parts of the country.

I like rich spicy, woven, things of age old cultures....both countries do them very well!!

    6. My ultimate travel companion would be: me. I travel best alone - i meet people, and am free to be spontaneous and change plans or make them up as I go. That said, I am looking forward to travelling with Mr. Rugby.

  3. Love travel... love sharing... great idea, Felicity!

    1. The place I regularly visit in my dreams is here, where I live. It's still a novelty and imagine it will be for some time yet.

    2. If I were to receive a huge gift of money, I'd love to spend extended time in France and Canada.

    3. My most treasured holiday experience was when I traveled for six weeks around eastern Europe with Mr SJW before we returned to Sydney from living overseas. This is something I look forward to doing again when we are grey nomads.

    4. Without a doubt Moscow is the most exotic place I've visited... maybe not exotic but it threw me completely out of my comfort zone and it was freezing!

    5. I've always wanted to visit more beaches to do more scuba diving. Seeing what's beneath the water is like opening up a whole new world and adds another dimension to travel.

    6. My ultimate travel companion is my husband. He's naturally curious and when I'm feeling intimidated by foreign surroundings he takes my hand and all is well.

  5. Great idea Felicity, I'm really enjoying reading everyone's answers! Here's mine:

    1. The place I regularly visit in my dreams is probably my home town of Melbourne, Australia. So far away but full of friends and family (and food!) that I love!

    2. If I were to receive a huge gift of money, I'd love to spend extended time in Europe. The husband and I would buy a cheap car and just drive, stopping wherever our fancy took us!

    3. My most treasured holiday experience was when I went to...oh this is really, really tough, I have so many magical travel memories. But I guess I would have to nominate my first big overseas trip, traveling solo - trains across Spain, then on to Paris and London. It was like a dream come true, every day was a wonderful adventure!

    4. Without a doubt the most exotic place I've visited is Katmandu, where I lived for 2 months when I was 17 years old! I had a chance to do a short exchange program at the end of high school and wanted to pick a place that was far from my comfortable existence in Australia. A truly amazing experience.

    5. I've always wanted to visit Italy to go skiing, Israel to explore the history, Turkey to eat (and eat some more), America to white water raft, South America to wonder at nature...I could go on...

    6. My ultimate travel companion would be my husband, which is rather lucky as we travel together, a lot! He shares my excitement about travel and new places, he is fearless without being stupidly risky, he is flexible, funny, relaxed and (best of all) he has a fabulous eye for a fantastic restaurant!

  7. Ah, Felicity, what a fabulous idea while we sit here ensconced in the waiting lounge! Hmm, here goes.

    1. The place I regularly visit in my dreams is Paris. Quelle surprise!

    2. If I were to receive a huge gift of money, I'd love to spend extended time in Europe, taking Mr PB and the pixies with me. Ideally, I'd love us to take a year off to really immerse ourselves in all the different cultures before the pixies get too involved in school life.

    3. My most treasured holiday experience was when I went to Germany in 1989 as a Rotary Exchange Student. The entire year has left so many lasting impacts on my life.

    4. Without a doubt Bahrain is the most exotic place I've visited (only as a stopover en route to Frankfurt).

    5. I've always wanted to visit Antarctica to visit Mawson's Hut.

    6. My ultimate travel companion would be you!
