Do you feel like your vocabulary could do with a little zhushing? Then this is the space for you!
Each week I will unearth a new word to play with. If you would like to join in, write a post incorporating this weeks' word, then come back and leave a comment with your post link so that we can all read your work.
To make it easy for us to find your entry, please incorporate the WW button into your post.
Enjoy using your zhushed vocabulary!

Lissom
[adj.] lithesome or lithe, especially of body; supple; flexible.
Agile, nimble or active.
As many of us focus our attention upon improving our physical fitness at the start of this new year, I wonder how lissom we will be?

love this!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture Felicity.. I l-o-v-e your words...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great word!! This one will definitely make a fantastic permanent addition to my vocabulary :-)
ReplyDeletethanks!!

I so needed to read this today - thankYOU so much for the reminder to get moving and to try some different types of exercise.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture - just gorgeous.
It is about how chubby I imagine myself in a tutu and these ladies actually look great!
I am going to write that word on my fridge and then walk around telling myself: I am Lissom!

The picture is spectacular... who is it by? I love the colours and the sense of mystery. Very 'old school'.
ReplyDeleteGreat word for the week too!!! Being lissome is so important as we grow older (not that we're ancient or anything but, you know what I mean!!) x
The amazing Katrina was very speedy last week and linked her WW post before I removed it in deference to the unfolding tragedy of the floods.
ReplyDeleteShe has a great image and thought & I'd encourage you to have a look, here is the URL: http://www.katrinaleechambers.com/2011/01/word-of-week.html
Thanks for playing Katrina!

Oh dear...I think I am at about zero on the lissom meter these days, but something to work on, right? Love that picture, Felicity. Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday, lovely lady. ~ Tina xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Felicity! Was fun!
ReplyDeleteOoh Lissom what a great word, I love the image, I need to get back into my Zumba class but I keep putting it of I need to be Lissom but some how I think my days of doing the splits are well & truly over!! (hee)
ReplyDeleteI've been sitting in front of my computer, on an uncomfortable kitchen chair for too long tonight, and I'm now feeling decidedly 'not' lissom. Actually you've reminded me that I had promised myself a regular yoga class this year!
ReplyDeleteAh, a gorgeous word, Felicity. I'll put my thinking cap on for this one...J x
ReplyDeleteHi Felicity,
ReplyDeleteThe word made me laugh, I couldn't be less lithe, flexible and agile if I tried. Coordination challenged, that's me!!! I dream of being lissom...Emma. xx
It seems that to be lissom is a desirable but not entirely common state amongst our group.
ReplyDeleteIf you're keen to become a little more lithe and agile try spending some time with Cate www.keepcatebusy.blogspot.com or click on her button above [third button down].
She's a wonderful encourager and will no doubt motivate you to achieve your desired level of gracefulness on the lissom meter [terrific term introduced to me by the lovely Tina Ruby].
Thank you to Naomi www.sevencherubs.com who emailed a photo of herself standing next to a sign that she had created and placed on her fridge yesterday - it says
"I AM LISSOM- I am I am I am I am"
You are all treasures!
x Felicity
